Rehydron Neo for Children
REHYDRON NEO KIDS
Dosage form: Powder for the preparation of an oral solution.<\/p>

Pharmacotherapeutic group:<\/b> Dietary supplement for compensating body dehydration.<\/p>\n\n

Composition:<\/b> Glucose \u2013 3.56 g; Sodium \u2013 326 mg; Citrate \u2013 388 mg; Potassium \u2013 158 mg; Chloride \u2013 427 mg.
\nExcipients:<\/b> Orange flavor, saccharin, colloidal silicon dioxide.<\/p>\n\n

Pharmacological action:<\/b> The main purpose of using the preparation is to restore the acid-base balance, which is disrupted by the loss of electrolytes during vomiting and diarrhea. The glucose contained in \"Rehydron Neo Kids\" promotes the absorption of salts and citrates and helps maintain acid-base equilibrium.
\nPharmacokinetics:<\/b> The elimination half-life (T1\/2) is 1 hour. Excreted by the kidneys.<\/p>\n\n

Indications:<\/b> Used in complex therapy as an adjuvant treatment for the prevention of dehydration.<\/p>\n\n

Dosage and administration:<\/b> The contents of 1 sachet should be dissolved in 250 ml of freshly boiled water cooled to room temperature.
\nIn case of nausea and vomiting, it is advisable to take the solution chilled, in small portions.<\/p>\n\n

  • Neonates and children under 2 years:<\/b> 1\u20132 teaspoons of solution administered at 5\u201310 minute intervals over 4\u20136 hours.<\/li>\n
  • Children over 2 years and adults:<\/b> Taken in small portions (50\u2013100 ml) at 3\u20135 minute intervals over 3\u20135 hours.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n

    For rehydration, \"Rehydron Neo Kids\" is taken during the first 6\u201310 hours in an amount double the body weight lost. For example, if the weight loss is 400 g, 800 ml of \"Rehydron Neo Kids\" solution should be administered.
    \nIf diarrhea continues, \"Rehydron Neo Kids\", water, and other fluids should be taken over a 24-hour period according to the following schedule:<\/p><\/p>

    After dehydration symptoms decrease, the dose of \"Rehydron Neo Kids\" may be reduced to 5\u201310 ml\/kg, administered after each subsequent loose stool; additionally, following each episode of vomiting, an extra dose of 10 ml\/kg is given.
    \nTypically, the preparation is taken for no more than 3\u20134 days.<\/p>\n\n

    Contraindications:<\/b> Impaired renal function; diabetes mellitus; loss of consciousness; intestinal obstruction; hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation.<\/p>\n\n

    Side effects:<\/b> When taken in recommended doses, it does not cause side effects. There is a potential possibility of allergic reactions.<\/p>\n\n

    Overdose:<\/b>
    \nSymptoms:<\/i> Taking large volumes or highly concentrated solutions of \"Rehydron Neo Kids\" may lead to hypernatremia (weakness, drowsiness, confusion, coma, and occasionally respiratory arrest). In patients with impaired renal function, metabolic alkalosis may develop, manifested as decreased pulmonary ventilation.<\/p>\n\n

    Pregnancy and lactation:<\/b> \"Rehydron Neo Kids\" may be used during pregnancy and lactation in recommended doses.<\/p>\n\n

    Effects on ability to drive and use machines:<\/b> The preparation does not affect the ability to drive or operate machinery.<\/p>\n\n

    Warnings and precautions:<\/b> In cases of vomiting and diarrhea, treatment with \"Rehydron Neo Kids\" should be initiated as early as possible and continued until diarrhea ceases (typically no more than 3\u20134 days). No other components should be added to the solution so as not to alter the preparation's action.
    \nIf symptoms such as drowsiness, disorientation, high fever, anuria (cessation of urine excretion), blood in stool develop during the use of \"Rehydron Neo Kids\", or if diarrhea persists for more than 5 days, a physician must be consulted immediately.<\/p>\n\n

    Drug interactions:<\/b> \"Rehydron Neo Kids\" has an alkaline reaction, which must be taken into account when co-administered with drugs whose absorption depends on specific pH levels.<\/p>\n\n

    Packaging:<\/b> 5.185 g powder in a sachet. 10 sachets are placed in a cardboard box together with the instruction leaflet.<\/p>\n\n

    Storage conditions:<\/b> Store at a temperature not exceeding 25\u00b0C in a dry place, protected from light.
    \nThe prepared solution must be stored in a refrigerator (at 2\u20138\u00b0C) for no longer than 24 hours.<\/p>\n\n
