Instructions for use<\/p>

Pharmacotherapeutic group:<\/b> Laxative.<\/p>\n\n

Composition:<\/b>
\nActive substance:<\/b> Phytolax dry extract \u2013 0.25 g;
\n(Prepared on the basis of Senna leaves, Alder Buckthorn bark, and Licorice roots).<\/i>
\nExcipients:<\/b> Magnesium carbonate, calcium stearate, starch, polyvinylpyrrolidone, sucrose, aerosil, titanium dioxide, green pigment.<\/p>\n\n

Phytolax dry extract contains anthraglycosides: emodin, chrysophanic acid, glucofrangulin, frangulin, etc., as well as the saponin glycyrrhizin.<\/p>\n\n

Pharmacological action:<\/b> Under the influence of intestinal enzymes and bacteria, the hydrolysis of anthraglycosides and saponins takes place. The resulting cleavage products enhance the peristalsis of the large intestine without irritating the gastrointestinal mucosa. Due to the slow rate of the hydrolysis process, the laxative effect develops exclusively in the large intestine 8\u201310 hours following administration. The presence of licorice saponins imparts additional anti-inflammatory, gastrointestinal mucosal protective, and spasmolytic properties to the preparation.<\/p>\n\n

Indications:<\/b> Used in complex therapy as an adjuvant treatment for:<\/p>\n\n

    \n
  • Spastic colitis;<\/li>\n
  • Atonic constipation;<\/li>\n
  • Hemorrhoids (to regulate bowel movements);<\/li>\n
  • Anal fissures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n

    Use of the preparation is recommended in chronic constipation, which occurs most frequently in individuals with a sedentary lifestyle.<\/p>\n\n

    Dosage and administration:<\/b> 1 or 2 tablets in the evening before bedtime.
    \nProlonged use of the preparation leads to tolerance; therefore, an increase in dosage or periodic substitution with another laxative agent may become necessary.<\/p>\n\n

    Side effects:<\/b> Prolonged use of high doses may lead to:<\/p>\n\n

      \n
    • Increased hyperemia of the pelvic organs;<\/li>\n
    • Hypokalemia and demineralization (concomitant administration of a potassium-containing preparation or a potassium-rich diet is recommended to restore balance);<\/li>\n
    • Potential induction of miscarriage in pregnant women.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n

      Special instructions:<\/b> Treatment should be initiated with 1 tablet per day; increasing the dose to 2 tablets daily is recommended only if the therapeutic effect is insufficient.
      \nIf side effects develop during administration, consultation with a physician is recommended for symptomatic management.<\/p>\n\n

      Overdose:<\/b> Overdose may cause abdominal discomfort, tenesmus, nausea, and diarrhea.
      \nTreatment:<\/i> Symptomatic.<\/p>\n\n

      Contraindications:<\/b><\/p>\n\n

        \n
      • Hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation;<\/li>\n
      • Intestinal obstruction;<\/li>\n
      • Pregnancy;<\/li>\n
      • Menstruation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n

        Pregnancy and lactation:<\/b> The use of the preparation is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation.<\/p>\n\n

        Interactions with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction:<\/b> Has not been studied.<\/p>\n\n

        Effects on ability to drive and use machines:<\/b> Has no effect on the ability to drive or operate machinery.<\/p>\n\n

        Packaging:<\/b> 10 tablets on a blister. 2 blisters in a box.<\/p>\n\n

        Storage conditions:<\/b> Store at a temperature of 15\u201325\u00b0C, in a dry place, protected from light, and out of reach of children.
        \nThe preparation must not be used after the expiry date or if defects are detected upon visual inspection.<\/p>\n\n

        Prescription status:<\/b> Group III pharmaceutical product, non-prescription (OTC).<\/p>\n\n
