Instructions for use

Pharmacological group: Sedative medicinal product.
Dosage form: Syrup.
Composition per 130 g:
Active substances: Thick valerian extract – 1.3 g; peppermint tincture – 3.25 ml; peppermint oil – 0.0052 ml;
Excipients: Sorbic acid or methylparaben, 96% ethyl alcohol, sugar syrup.
“Valomenth” contains a biologically active complex of substances: essential oils (menthol, borneol, borneol isovalerianate, isovaleric acid), flavonoids, triterpene saponins, valepotriates.
Pharmacological action: It has sedative, antispasmodic and analgesic effects. It enhances inhibitory processes in neurons of the cortical and subcortical structures of the brain, reduces reflex excitability in the central parts of the nervous system, prolongs the effects of hypnotic medicinal products, reflexively dilates cerebral blood vessels, relieves spasms of the smooth muscles of internal organs, enhances bile secretion, peristalsis and secretion of the digestive glands, and has a mild antiseptic effect.
Indications: Used as an adjunct in complex therapy.
· Various forms of neurosis, hysteria, neurasthenia;
· Agitation, fear, tension;
· Facilitates the onset of natural sleep;
· Migraine-like headache;
· Neurogenic arrhythmia;
· Diseases of the liver and biliary tract;
· Disorders of the secretory function of the gastrointestinal tract;
· Meteorism, nausea.
Contraindications:
· Diabetes mellitus.
· Hypersensitivity to any of the components contained in the medicinal product.
Side effects: Prolonged use of the medicinal product in high doses may cause drowsiness.
Method of administration and dosage: Administered orally.
Children aged 6 months to 1 year: 2.5 ml of syrup 3 times daily.
Children aged 1 to 3 years: 5 ml of syrup 3 times daily.
Children aged 3 to 6 years: 10 ml of syrup 2 times daily.
Children aged 6 to 12 years: 10 ml of syrup 3–4 times daily.
Adults and children from 12 years of age: 15 ml of syrup 3–4 times daily;
The duration of the treatment course is determined individually by the physician.
Missed dose: If a dose is missed, a double dose must not be taken. The next dose should be taken as soon as possible or according to the original dosing schedule.
Overdose: Prolonged use in high doses may cause a decrease in the speed of psychomotor reactions.
Pregnancy and lactation: The medicinal product may be used during pregnancy and lactation as prescribed by a physician.
Effect on the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery: Caution should be exercised when driving vehicles or operating machinery while taking the medicinal product, as it may affect the ability to concentrate and react quickly.
Precautions: The medicinal product should be administered with caution to patients with diabetes mellitus and during pregnancy and lactation.
Interaction with other medicinal products: Concomitant use with other sedatives is permitted; it enhances the effects of hypnotic medicinal products and CNS depressants.
Special instructions: Prolonged use of the medicinal product in high doses may reduce the speed of psychomotor reactions. In such cases, caution should be exercised when driving vehicles and operating machinery that requires concentration.
Presentation:
Primary packaging: 130 g of syrup in a dark orange glass or polymer bottle. Secondary packaging: One bottle in a cardboard box together with the instructions for use.
Shelf life: 3 years;
The medicinal product must not be used after the expiry date or if any defects are detected during visual inspection.
Storage: Store at 15–25ºC, protected from light and out of reach of children.
Dispensing conditions: Pharmaceutical product Group III – available without a prescription.
