Valerian with Mint No. 40

Dosage form: Tablets.
Composition of one tablet: Thick valerian extract – 0.02 g; peppermint oil – 0.00025 g;
Excipients: Magnesium carbonate, starch, glucose, calcium stearate, talc, pigments.
Pharmacological action: The medicinal product contains valeric and isovaleric acids, borneol, myrtenol, alkaloids (valerine, chatinine); substances with sedative effects – valepotriates, and peppermint essential oils.
Based on this composition, “Valerian Extract with Peppermint” tablets reduce the excitability of the central nervous system and have a sedative effect, relieve smooth muscle spasms, have a choleretic effect, enhance the secretory activity of the gastrointestinal mucosa, slow the heart rate and dilate the coronary blood vessels, and enhance the effects of hypnotic medicinal products.
The therapeutic effect of the medicinal product becomes apparent after a systematic and prolonged course of treatment.
Indications: Used as an adjunct in complex therapy. Nervous excitability, insomnia, functional disorders of the cardiovascular and digestive systems.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the medicinal product.
Side effects: In individual cases, allergic reactions may occur in patients with hypersensitivity to the components contained in the medicinal product.
Method of administration and dosage: Administered orally: 1–2 tablets 3–4 times daily with meals.
Pregnancy and lactation: The medicinal product may be used during pregnancy and lactation as prescribed by a physician.
Interaction with other medicinal products: Concomitant use with other sedatives is permitted; it enhances the effects of hypnotic medicinal products and CNS depressants.
Overdose: No cases of overdose have been reported. Systematic administration of high doses of the medicinal product may cause weakness, lethargy, decreased work capacity, and drowsiness.
Effect of the medicinal product on the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery:
Caution should be exercised when driving vehicles or operating machinery while taking the medicinal product, as it may affect the ability to concentrate and react quickly.
Packaging: 20 tablets in a blister, 2 or 5 blisters in a cardboard box.
Shelf life: 3 years.
The medicinal product must not be used after the expiry date or if any defect is detected during visual inspection.
Storage: Store in a dry place, protected from light and inaccessible to children, at a temperature not exceeding 25ºC.
Dispensing conditions: Pharmaceutical product Group III, available without a prescription.
