Parapharmaceutical product

Composition: Pomegranate peel extract – 5 mg/5 ml; Elderberry extract – 0.3 g/5 ml.
Elderberry extract contains carotenoids, tannins, and amino acids.
Pomegranate peel extract contains tannins, antioxidants, micro- and macroelements (potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, manganese, zinc, selenium, aluminum, choline, nickel, and others), polyphenols, and large amounts of vitamins (K, C, and B-group vitamins).
Pharmacological action: The biologically active compounds contained in pomegranate peel and elderberry fruit determine their antimicrobial, astringent, antioxidant, antiparasitic, and anti-inflammatory effects.
“DIARIN” elixir is effective in cases of diarrhea due to its strong astringent effect on the gastrointestinal tract.
Experimental studies have established that substances contained in pomegranate peel destroy the microorganisms that cause dysentery, salmonellosis, and cholera. As is known, chemical preparations (e.g. antibiotics) act indiscriminately on both pathogenic and beneficial microorganisms, as well as on the body's cells, causing the immune system to attack its own cells. The advantage of “DIARIN” is that during treatment, pathogenic bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract are gradually eliminated, while the intestinal microflora, which is not suppressed, occupies their place, multiplies, and replaces the microorganisms causing the disease.
“DIARIN” elixir has a variety of beneficial effects: it regulates gastrointestinal function, has a strong anthelmintic effect, helps eliminate parasitic worms and toxic products of their vital activity from the body (long-term use is safe for the body – unlike chemical preparations, it does not irritate the liver), helps eliminate carcinogenic and radioactive substances from the body, slows down the aging process, and participates in blood formation processes.
Indications: Used as an adjunct in complex therapy. Used as an astringent and antimicrobial agent in cases of diarrhea, dysbacteriosis, dysentery, and salmonellosis.
Method of administration and dosage: In cases of mild diarrhea:
Children aged 8 to 12 years should take 5 ml of elixir (1 teaspoon) once daily after meals.
Children aged 5 to 8 years should take 2.5 ml of elixir (1/2 teaspoon) once daily after meals.
Children aged 2 to 5 years should take 1.25 ml of elixir (1/4 teaspoon) once daily after meals.
Adolescents over 14 years of age and adults should take 10–15 ml of elixir (2–3 teaspoons) once daily after meals.
If gastrointestinal function is not restored after a single administration of “DIARIN” elixir, administration of the product should be continued for 1 week at double the dose.
For the treatment of dysbacteriosis, salmonellosis, and dysentery, “DIARIN” elixir should be taken for 1 week at the following dosage:
Children aged 8 to 12 years – 5 ml of elixir (1 teaspoon) twice daily after meals.
Children aged 5 to 8 years – 2.5 ml of elixir (1/2 teaspoon) twice daily after meals.
Children aged 2 to 5 years – 1.25 ml of elixir (1/4 teaspoon) twice daily after meals.
Adolescents over 14 years of age and adults should take 10–15 ml of elixir (2–3 teaspoons) twice daily after meals.
The elixir may be taken diluted in a small amount of water.
Side effects: In case of increased sensitivity to any of the components of the product, allergic reactions may occur.
If side effects occur, the patient should discontinue treatment and consult a physician.
If any side effects occur that are not mentioned in the instructions for use, the patient should consult their treating physician or pharmacist.
Contraindications: Allergy to the components of the product, chronic constipation, inflammation of hemorrhoidal nodes, pregnancy and lactation, hepatitis, acute nephritis.
Pregnancy and lactation: The product should not be used during pregnancy or lactation.
Effect on the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery: Administration of the product does not affect the ability to drive vehicles or operate machinery.
Overdose: Due to the presence of alkaloids in the product, symptoms of poisoning may develop in case of overdose. In case of overdose, gastric lavage and administration of an adsorbent are required.
Presentation:
Primary packaging: 100 ml of elixir in a dark polymer container.
Secondary packaging: 1 bottle is placed in a cardboard box together with the instructions for use.
Shelf life: 2 years.
The product must not be used after the expiry date or if any defects are detected during visual inspection.
Storage conditions: Store at a temperature not exceeding 25ºC, in a dry place protected from light.
Dispensing conditions: Available without a prescription.
