Dosage form: Capsules.
Composition: Dry extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves – 40 mg (standardized to 24% flavone glycosides and 6% terpene lactones).
Excipients: Magnesium carbonate, lactose, povidone, Aerosil.
Pharmacotherapeutic group: Angioprotective medicinal product of plant origin.
Clinical-pharmacological group: Medicinal product improving cerebral and peripheral blood circulation.
Pharmacological action: “Ginkgo Biloba Neo” is a medicinal product of plant origin. The active substances of the extract – flavone glycosides and terpene lactones (ginkgolides and bilobalide) – regulate metabolic processes in cells, improve blood rheological parameters and microcirculation. The medicinal product has an antihypoxic effect on tissues: it supplies the brain and peripheral tissues with oxygen and glucose, improves cerebral blood circulation, has a cerebroprotective effect, promotes reduction of vascular wall permeability (anti-edematous effect in the brain and peripheral tissues), and inhibits platelet aggregation.
Indications:
Dyscirculatory encephalopathy of various etiologies (stroke, traumatic brain injury, advanced age), accompanied by:
• impaired attention;
• impaired memory;
• decreased intellectual abilities;
• feelings of fear;
• sleep disturbances;
Disorders of peripheral blood circulation and microcirculation (including arteriopathy of the lower extremities);
Raynaud’s syndrome;
Neurosensory disorders (dizziness, tinnitus, hypoacusis).
Contraindications: Reduced blood coagulation; peptic ulcer disease of the stomach and duodenum; erosive gastritis; acute cerebrovascular disorders; acute myocardial infarction; arterial hypotension; age under 18 years; hypersensitivity to any of the components of the medicinal product; pregnancy and lactation.
Special precautions: Concomitant alcohol consumption is not recommended during treatment.
Use of the medicinal product is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation, although no adverse effects on the fetus have been established.
Side effects: In rare cases, allergic reactions (skin rash), dyspepsia, headache and reduced blood coagulation may occur.
Method of administration and dosage: Administer orally with water.
Take 1–2 capsules 3 times daily. Improvement of the condition is observed after one month. Duration of treatment – at least 3 months. If necessary, a repeated course of treatment may be administered (after consultation with a physician).
Overdose: No cases of overdose have been described.
Interaction with other medicinal products: Concomitant use of “Ginkgo Biloba Neo” with acetylsalicylic acid or anticoagulants is not recommended.
Effects on the ability to drive and operate machinery: The medicinal product does not affect the ability to drive vehicles or operate machinery.
Presentation: Primary packaging: 10 capsules in a PVC/Aluminium blister.
Secondary packaging: 3 blisters placed in a cardboard box together with the package leaflet.
Shelf life: 3 years.
The medicinal product must not be used after the expiry date or if any defects are detected during visual inspection.
Storage: Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C, protected from light, in a dry place and out of the reach of children.
