Zinc Ointment Neo 25 g

Composition: Active substance: Zinc oxide – 0.1 g/1 g;

Excipients: Vaseline, liquid paraffin;

Pharmacological group: Dermatoprotective agent.

Pharmacological action: "Zinc Ointment" has drying, adsorbent, anti-inflammatory, astringent, and disinfecting effects.

When the ointment is applied to the damaged surface, albuminates form and protein denaturation occurs; exudation (discharge) is reduced, a physical barrier protecting against irritants is created, and wound healing is accelerated.

Indication: Dermatitis, intertrigo (chafing), acne, heat rash, superficial wounds, burns, trophic ulcers, ulcerative skin lesions, pressure sores, eczema (acute flare-up), herpes simplex.

Directions for use: The affected area must be cleaned beforehand; it is advisable to treat any cracks or fissures with an antiseptic solution. Subsequently, the ointment is applied in a thin layer 4–6 times daily. The duration of the treatment course depends on the nature of the condition and the symptoms, and is determined individually by a physician.

Ointment dressings are used in the treatment of burns and wounds. 

Zinc ointment is used in children to prevent chafing when a large part of the body is in contact with wet bedding.

The effectiveness of "Zinc Ointment" in the treatment and prevention of acne increases when used in combination with erythromycin ointment.

Contraindication: Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation.

Side effects: Allergic reactions may occur: itching, redness, rash.

Interaction with other medicinal products: not studied;

Pregnancy and lactation: Use of the drug during pregnancy and lactation is permitted upon a doctor's prescription.

Effects on the ability to drive and use machines: Use of the drug does not affect the ability to drive and use machines.

Overdose: No cases of overdose have been reported.

Special instructions: The ointment is for external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes!

Dispensing status: Pharmaceutical product Group III; dispensed without a prescription.

Dosage form: 25 g of ointment in an aluminum tube.
