Instructions for use

Pharmacotherapeutic group: Combined herbal expectorant.

Dosage form: Tablets.

Composition:

• Active substance: 250 mg plantain combined dry extract (prepared from 2 parts plantain leaves, 2 parts mallow herb, and 1 part greater celandine herb);
• Excipients: Ascorbic acid, basic magnesium carbonate, polyvinylpyrrolidone, calcium or magnesium stearate, starch, talc.

Plants contained in the preparation include a complex of biologically active substances: Bitter glycosides (aucubin, etc.), flavonoids, tannins, carotene, ascorbic acid, poly- and monosaccharides, mucilaginous substances, saponins, alkaloids, coumarins.

Pharmacological action:
Plantain exhibits expectorant, anti-inflammatory, and mucilaginous soothing effects. It enhances the movement of the ciliary epithelium of the bronchial mucosa and bronchial mucus secretion, liquefies phlegm, and facilitates its expectoration. The preparation exerts soothing, smooth muscle spasmolytic, vasodilating, and mild sedative actions. The total alkaloids present in greater celandine cause a reduction in blood pressure through ganglionic blocking and vasodilating effects.

Indications: Used in complex therapy as an adjuvant treatment for dry cough and smoker's cough.

Side effects: Allergic reactions: itching, rash, urticaria, swelling. Gastrointestinal disorders: heartburn, nausea.

Dosage and administration: Orally. Adults and children over 12 years of age: 1 tablet 3–4 times daily before meals.
The duration of treatment is determined individually by the physician.
In case of a missed dose, the next dose should be taken according to the original schedule.

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation.

Pregnancy and lactation: The preparation can be used during pregnancy and lactation as prescribed by a doctor.

Effects on ability to drive and use machines: The preparation does not affect the ability to drive and use machines.

Drug interactions: The preparation is not recommended for co-administration with antitussives. It can be used in combination by alternating expectorant drugs during the day and antitussive drugs in the evening (for restful sleep).

Special warnings: Not prescribed to children under 12 years of age.

Overdose:
Symptoms: Nausea, vomiting.
Treatment: Discontinuation of the preparation.

Precautions: Administer with caution during pregnancy and lactation.

Packaging:

• Primary packaging: 10 tablet blister.
• Secondary packaging: 2 blisters are placed in a cardboard box.

Shelf life: 2 years.
It is prohibited to use the preparation after the expiry date or if defects are detected upon visual inspection.

Storage conditions: Store in a dry place, protected from light and out of reach of children, at a temperature of 15–25°C.
