Phagovita S (Sage) 12 Lozenges

Dosage form: Pastille

Pharmacotherapeutic group: Topical anti-inflammatory and antiseptic agent.

Ingredients:

Active substances: specific bacteriophages active against *Streptococcus* spp., *Staphylococcus* spp., *Enterococcus* spp., and *E. coli*; sage extract; sage oil;

Excipients: menthol, isomalt, gelatin, sucrose.

Pharmacological action: Causes specific lysis of *Streptococcus* spp., *Staphylococcus* spp., *Enterococcus* spp., and *E. coli* bacteria. It exhibits anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiviral, and expectorant effects.

The effect of the preparation is determined by a complex of biologically active substances: specific bacteriophages active against *Streptococcus* spp., *Staphylococcus* spp., *Enterococcus* spp., and *E. coli*, as well as tannins, flavonoids, essential oils (containing 15% cineole), and triterpene acids (ursolic and oleanolic).

Tannins, flavonoids, and rosmarinic acid exhibit surface-coating activity, which underlies their anti-inflammatory effect. Sage extract possesses antispasmodic properties and promotes expectoration; the antimicrobial activity of sage oil is primarily directed against Gram-positive bacterial strains.

Indication: Used in combination therapy as an adjunct.

• Inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract: pharyngitis, tonsillitis, laryngitis, bronchitis;

• Inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity: stomatitis, gingivitis, post-tooth extraction condition.

Contraindication: Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation.

Side effects: None identified.

Administration and dosage: The lozenges should be sucked slowly in the mouth.

For adults and children over 12 years of age: one pastille every 2–3 hours (no more than 6–8 pastilles per day).

For children aged 5 to 12 years: one pastille 3–4 times daily (no more than 4 pastilles per day).

The duration of the course of administration must not exceed 5 days.

Overdose: No cases of overdose have been reported.

Pregnancy and lactation: The drug may be used during pregnancy and lactation upon a doctor's recommendation.

Interaction with other medicinal products or other forms of interaction: Not studied.

Effect on the ability to drive and use machines: It does not affect the ability to drive and use machines.

Dosage form: 6 pastilles per blister.

Two blisters in a cardboard box, together with the instructions.

Storage instructions: Store in a dry place, protected from light, at a temperature not exceeding 20°C.

Pharmacy dispensing rule: Pharmaceutical product group III – for use without a doctor's prescription, in accordance with the instructions.

Shelf life: 18 months.

Do not use the product if the expiration date has passed or if defects are detected during visual inspection.
