Dosage form: Syrup.

Pharmacotherapeutic group: Herbal expectorant agent.

Composition (per 130 g):
Biologically active substances of Plantain leaves – 5.2 g, Mallow herb – 5.2 g, Wallflower herb – 2.6 g; Ascorbic acid – 0.4 g, 96% ethyl alcohol, sorbic acid, sugar syrup.

Biological activity: The plants included in the preparation contain a complex of biologically active substances: bitter glycosides (aucubin, etc.), flavonoids, tannins, carotene, ascorbic acid, poly- and monosaccharides, mucilaginous substances, saponins, alkaloids, and coumarins.

Pharmacological action:
Plantain exhibits expectorant, anti-inflammatory, and emollient effects on mucous membranes. It enhances the ciliary movement of the bronchial mucosal epithelium and bronchial mucus secretion, liquifying sputum and facilitating its expectoration. The syrup possesses soothing, smooth muscle antispasmodic, vasodilatory, and mild sedative actions. The total alkaloids present in wallflower exert a ganglionic-blocking and vasodilatory effect, causing a decrease in blood pressure.

Indications: Used in complex therapy as an adjuvant treatment for:

• Dry cough;
• Smoker's cough.

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation;
• Diabetes mellitus.

Dosage and administration: Administered orally, before meals. May be taken diluted in water.

• Adults and children over 12 years of age: 15 ml syrup 3–4 times daily.
• Children aged 1 to 3 years: 2.5 ml syrup 2–3 times daily.
• Children aged 3 to 6 years: 5 ml syrup 2–3 times daily.
• Children aged 6 to 12 years: 10 ml syrup 2–3 times daily.

The duration of treatment is determined individually by the physician.

Side effects:
Allergic reactions: Itching, rash, urticaria, edema.
Gastrointestinal disorders: Heartburn, nausea.

Overdose: No cases of overdose have been reported.

Pregnancy and lactation: Use during pregnancy and lactation is permitted if prescribed by a physician.

Drug interactions: Concomitant administration with antitussive (cough-suppressant) drugs or medications that reduce sputum production is not recommended.

Effects on ability to drive and use machines: The preparation does not affect the ability to drive or operate machinery.

Packaging:
Primary packaging: 130 g syrup in an orange glass or polymer bottle.
Secondary packaging: 1 bottle placed in a cardboard box together with the instruction leaflet.

Shelf life: 2 years.
The preparation must not be used after the expiry date or if defects are detected upon visual inspection.

Storage conditions: Store at a temperature of 15–25°C, protected from light, and out of reach of children.

Prescription status: Group III pharmaceutical product, non-prescription (OTC).
