Instructions for use

International nonproprietary name: Vaselinum, Vaseline.
Dosage form: Ointment for external use.
Pharmacological group: Dermatological product.
Composition: Vaseline 25 g.
Pharmacological action: Vaseline softens the epithelial surface of the skin. The ointment covers the skin with a thin but dense layer that prevents the penetration of microorganisms into cracks, wounds and abrasions (forming a protective barrier against microorganisms), protects the skin from cold, flaking and cracking. The ointment makes the skin more supple and elastic and prevents dehydration by restoring the skin’s natural hydrolipidic protective barrier.
Pharmacokinetics: When applied externally, Vaseline is not absorbed into deep tissues and practically does not enter the systemic circulation.
Recommended use: Used as an adjunctive product in complex therapy.
It is used to soften the skin of the hands, knees, feet, elbows and lips in cases of dryness, cracking and roughness, which may be caused by adverse environmental factors (sun, wind, frost) as well as vitamin deficiency. It is also used prior to medical procedures (the ointment is applied to the tip of a gas outlet tube and an enema nozzle).
Method of use: Apply a thin layer to a cleansed skin surface and rub in thoroughly.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to Vaseline.
Side effects: In case of hypersensitivity, allergic reactions may occur.
Interaction with other medicinal products: Does not interact with other medicinal products.
Pregnancy and lactation: The product may be used during pregnancy and lactation.
Effects on the ability to drive and operate machinery: Use of the product does not affect the ability to drive vehicles or operate machinery.
Overdose: Overdose is not possible when used externally.
Special precautions: The ointment is for external use only. Avoid contact of Vaseline with the eyes! In case of contact, carefully remove the product and/or rinse with water.

Presentation: 25 g of ointment in an aluminium tube.
Shelf life: 5 years.
Storage conditions: Store protected from light, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.
