Composition:
30 mL of the medicinal product contains:
Povidone-iodine ——————————————— 3 g
Excipients: Glycerol 85% – 0.382 g, Nonoxynol-9 – 0.094 g, citric acid, disodium hydrogen phosphate – 0.096 g, sodium hydroxide – 0.0351 g, purified water – up to 30 mL.
Description: Dark brown, viscous liquid with a characteristic iodine odor. Miscible with water in any proportion.
General information: Povidone-iodine is a complex of iodine with the polymer polyvinylpyrrolidone. Active iodine is gradually released from the complex and exerts an antiseptic effect against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria without causing a corrosive effect on tissues. A lightly coloured film remains at the site of application and persists until the entire amount of iodine has been released. After discoloration, Neodin may be reapplied. It is used for treatment of the skin surface before and/or after surgery.
Indications for use:
• Antiseptic treatment of the skin and mucous membranes before surgical procedures and invasive examinations (biopsies, punctures, blood sampling, before injections, etc.);
• Antiseptic treatment of the skin around catheters, drains and probes;
• Hand disinfection of surgeons and medical personnel before surgical procedures;
• Hand disinfection when caring for infected patients.
Method of use: Depending on the indication, Neodin is used either diluted or undiluted. When dilution is required, the solution should be diluted immediately before use with boiled water cooled to room temperature at a ratio of 1:10 or 1:100. Storage of the prepared solution is not permitted.
Directions for use: For antiseptic treatment of the skin before surgical procedures and invasive examinations (biopsies, punctures, blood sampling, before injections, etc.), undiluted Neodin solution is applied to the skin for 1–2 minutes.
Presentation: 30 mL of solution in a dark orange polymer bottle equipped with a dropper and screw cap.
The medicinal product must not be used after the expiry date or if any defect is detected during visual inspection.
Shelf life: 3 years.
Storage conditions: Store at 15–25°C, protected from light and out of the reach of children.
Safety: Non-toxic when used externally.
Neodin must not be used internally!
Do not dilute with hot water!
