Propolis Ointment – ​​20%, 25g in an aluminum tube

Antiseptic, antifungal, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory medicinal product
Dosage form: Ointment.

Pharmacological group: Antiseptic, antifungal, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory medicinal product.

Description: Yellowish-brown, water-insoluble ointment with the characteristic aromatic odor of propolis.

Composition:
Prepared on the basis of propolis (20%).
Excipients: Beeswax, petrolatum, sunflower oil;

Pharmacological action:
Has antipruritic, antifungal, bactericidal, analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects and stimulates tissue regeneration and epithelialization.

Indications:
Furunculosis, burns, purulent wounds, chronic non-healing wounds, neurodermatitis, trophic ulcers, inflammatory diseases of the oral mucosa (gingivitis, stomatitis, periodontosis), fungal diseases, proctitis, vaginitis, cervical erosions.

Method of administration and dosage:
After removal of necrotic tissue, apply propolis ointment to the affected area, with or without gauze, twice daily. The course of treatment is 2–3 weeks.
In inflammatory diseases of the oral mucosa, propolis ointment should be applied to the affected areas after meals.
The duration of treatment depends on the nature of the lesion and is determined individually by the physician.

Contraindications:
• Individual intolerance to bee products;
• Acute eczema.

Side effects:
Use of propolis ointment may cause skin hyperemia, rash and itching. In such cases, use of the medicinal product should be discontinued.

Overdose: No cases of overdose have been reported.

Special precautions: In case of an allergic reaction, use of the medicinal product should be discontinued and the ointment should be washed off with warm water. When used in the oral cavity as an application, swallowing the ointment is not recommended; however, accidental swallowing is not harmful.

Interaction with other medicinal products: Not studied.

Pregnancy and lactation: The medicinal product may be used during pregnancy and lactation as prescribed by a physician.

Effects on the ability to drive and operate machinery: Use of the medicinal product does not affect the ability to drive vehicles or operate machinery.

Presentation: 25 g of ointment in an aluminium tube. The tube is placed in a cardboard box together with the package leaflet.

Dispensing conditions: Pharmaceutical Product Group III; available without a prescription.

Shelf life: 3 years.

Storage conditions: Store in a cool place, protected from light.
