30% alcoholic propolis extract

Composition per 20 mL: Propolis – 6.0 g; 80% ethyl alcohol – up to 20 mL.

Pharmacological action: Antimicrobial, antifungal, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, analgesic and wound-healing agent.

Indications:
• Superficial lesions of the skin and mucous membranes;
• Furunculosis, purulent skin diseases;
• Mycosis;
• Pharyngitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis, periodontosis, bronchitis;
• Gastric and duodenal ulcers, cholecystitis;
• Prostatitis.

Contraindications:
• Individual intolerance to bee products;
• Acute eczema.

Method of administration and dosage:
In case of superficial skin lesions: apply a swab moistened with propolis extract to the wound 1–3 times daily.
In case of fungal skin diseases: treat the affected area twice daily with a gauze swab moistened with the extract diluted 1:10.
In chronic pharyngitis and tonsillitis: apply propolis extract to the tonsils 1–2 times daily for 8–15 days.
In chronic tonsillitis: use the extract as an aqueous solution (diluted 1:20) for inhalation – 1–2 inhalations daily for 7–10 days.
In sinusitis: irrigate the sinuses twice daily for 14 days (propolis extract diluted 1:10 with isotonic sodium chloride solution).
In furunculosis: treat the affected area with a gauze swab moistened with the extract diluted 1:10.
In periodontosis: following deep curettage, introduce propolis extract into the periodontal pockets for 5 minutes.
In case of superficial wounds of the oral mucosa: use propolis extract (15 drops in half a glass of warm water) as a mouth rinse 4–5 times daily for 3–4 days.
In bronchitis, gastric and duodenal ulcers, cholecystitis, cystitis and prostatitis: take 15–20 drops of the extract diluted in 30–40 mL of warm water 2–3 times daily, 20 minutes before meals.

Side effects: Use of the alcoholic extract of propolis may cause itching, skin redness and rash. In such cases, treatment should be discontinued.
Overdose: No cases of overdose have been reported.
Special precautions: In case of an allergic reaction, discontinue use of the medicinal product and consult a physician or pharmacist.
Interaction with other medicinal products: Not studied.
Pregnancy and lactation: The medicinal product may be used during pregnancy and lactation as prescribed by a physician.
Effects on the ability to drive and operate machinery: Use of the medicinal product does not affect the ability to drive vehicles or operate machinery.
Presentation: 20 mL in an orange glass or polymer bottle. The bottle is labelled and placed in a cardboard box.

Dispensing conditions: Pharmaceutical Product Group III – may be used without a prescription.
