Clinical-pharmacological group: Paracetamol in combination with other preparations, excluding psycholeptics.

Dosage form: Capsules.

Composition: Paracetamol – 0.25 g, Ascorbic acid – 0.025 g, Caffeine – 0.0125 g, Mukaltin – 0.025 g, Aloe dry extract – 0.015 g.

Pharmacological action: Neocold is a combination product possessing antipyretic, diaphoretic, expectorant, anti-inflammatory, and mild analgesic properties. It relieves the feeling of weakness and fatigue.

Paracetamol is characterized by analgesic, antipyretic, and weak anti-inflammatory actions. Its mechanism of action is associated with the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis in the thermoregulatory center of the hypothalamus.

Ascorbic acid increases the body's resistance to infections and fulfills the body's requirement for vitamin C during acute respiratory viral infections.

Mukaltin liquefies phlegm, covers the damaged mucous membrane with a thin layer, softens and dissolves dense inflammatory plaques (of the throat, larynx, and vocal cords), accelerates the regeneration of damaged mucosa, and protects respiratory tract nerve endings from irritation.

Aloe dry extract is characterized by bactericidal, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties, and contains biogenic stimulators.

Caffeine reduces the feeling of fatigue. In case of headaches, it enhances the effect of paracetamol. During infectious diseases, it mobilizes the body's vital forces.

Indications: Used in complex therapy as an adjuvant treatment for symptomatic relief of flu and colds, characterized by fever, sneezing, acute rhinitis, and head, throat, and muscle pain.

Side effects:

• At recommended doses, no side effects are observed. In some cases, allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching, or Quincke's edema (angioedema) may develop.
• Rarely – disorders of the hematopoietic system.

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation.

Precautions:

• Concomitant use with other paracetamol-containing medicinal products is not recommended;
• Administration of the preparation is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation;
• During treatment with Neocold, alcohol consumption, as well as the administration of hypnotics and tranquilizers, is prohibited.

Dosage and administration: Orally.
Adults and children over 12 years of age: 2 capsules 3 times daily. Maximum 4 times per 24 hours for three days. The interval between doses must be at least 4 hours.
In children over 2 years of age, the dose is determined individually according to body weight.
Children aged 6 to 12 years: 1–2 capsules 3 times daily.
Children aged 2 to 6 years: 1/2 or 1 capsule 3 times daily.
The course of treatment is 5–7 days.
The preparation is particularly effective when taken at the onset of the first symptoms of flu and colds.

Pregnancy and lactation: The preparation is not used during pregnancy.
If its use is necessary during lactation, breastfeeding should be discontinued for the duration of treatment.

Overdose: In case of overdose, paleness of the skin, anorexia, nausea, and vomiting may develop within 24 hours.
In case of overdose, gastric lavage, administration of adsorbents, and administration of acetylcysteine and methionine are required.
When using the preparation in high doses and for a prolonged period, impaired liver and kidney function is expected, requiring monitoring of the blood picture.

Drug interactions: Enhances the effect of indirect anticoagulants (coumarin derivatives) and increases the likelihood of liver damage caused by hepatotoxic drugs. Metoclopramide increases, while cholestyramine decreases the absorption rate of the preparation. Barbiturates reduce the antipyretic activity of Neocold. Alcohol accelerates the absorption of paracetamol.

Packaging: 10 capsules in a PVC/Alu blister. 2 blisters in a cardboard box.

Terms of dispensing from pharmacies: Pharmaceutical product group III – dispensed without a prescription (Over-the-Counter).

Shelf life: 2 years.
It is prohibited to use the preparation after the expiry date or if defects are detected upon visual inspection.

Storage conditions: Store in a dry place, protected from light, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.
