Physio 0.9% (Sodium Chloride) 30 ml Nasal Spray

Description: Colorless, transparent solution with a faint, characteristic odor.

Composition: "Physio" nasal drops and spray contain:

Sodium chloride – 6.5 mg/1 ml (0.65% solution) or 9 mg/1 ml (0.9% solution);

Excipients: Methylparaben, disodium edetate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, sodium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate, distilled water.

Pharmacological action: "Physio" 0.65% and 0.9% represents a sodium chloride solution (hypotonic and isotonic, respectively) that moisturizes the nasal mucosa, loosens thickened mucosal discharge, facilitates its evacuation from the nasal cavity, and improves nasal breathing. It softens crusts formed on the nasal mucosa and promotes their removal. The preparation relieves edema of the nasal mucosa and prevents the development of otitis. Furthermore, when used in the postoperative period following nasal surgery, the preparation facilitates the removal of dead skin cells and scales, thereby reducing bleeding.

Pharmacokinetics: Absorption is low upon local application.

Indications:  

• Used for the hygienic cleansing of the nasal mucosa in adults and children (the 0.65% solution is also suitable for infants), and for the quick and easy removal of viscous mucus and crusts from the nasal cavity.

• Inflammatory diseases of the nasal cavity and nasopharyngeal mucosa of various etiologies (infectious and allergic rhinitis, chronic atrophic rhinitis, rhinosinusitis, rhinopharyngitis) accompanied by dryness of the nasal mucosa or mucous discharge;

• Prevention of inflammatory processes in the nasal cavity, nasopharynx, and paranasal sinuses (maxillary sinusitis, frontal sinusitis, sinusitis), and prevention of otitis during periods of epidemic outbreaks; 

• Cleansing and moisturizing the nasal mucosa when spending extended periods in air-conditioned buildings or environments contaminated with occupational irritants (paints, dust, flour).

• In the post-operative period following nasal surgery, to remove dead cells and crusts.

• During comprehensive treatment, it facilitates the absorption of other medicinal agents from the nasal cavity;

Contraindications: 

• Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. 

• For the 0.9% nasal spray – children under 1 year of age.

Side effects: In isolated cases, allergic reactions may occur, manifesting as irritation of the nasal mucosa.

Method of administration and dosage: The therapeutic-prophylactic agent is administered intranasally.

0.65% nasal drops: for children under one year of age – 1 drop in each nostril 3–4 times daily; for children over one year of age – 1–2 drops in each nostril 3–4 times daily; for adults – 2 drops in each nostril 3–4 times daily.

0.9% nasal spray: Hold the bottle upright and spray the solution into each nostril. Clear the nasal cavity 2–3 minutes after spraying. For adults and children over 3 years of age, administer 2 sprays of the 0.9% spray 3–4 times daily (or more frequently, if necessary).

For children aged 1 to 3 years – one spray of the 0.9% spray, 3–4 times daily.

For preventive treatment, the drug can be used 1–4 times a day. 

The average duration of the treatment course is three weeks; a repeat course may be administered after a 30-day break. For preventive treatment, it is necessary to clear the nasal cavity before using the preparation. 

Special instructions: It is not recommended for the same vial to be used by different people, in order to prevent the spread of infection.

The tip of the bottle should be cleaned after use.

Pregnancy and lactation: The use of "Physio" is recommended during pregnancy and lactation.

Interactions with other medicinal products: Due to low absorption, no interactions with other drugs have been observed.

Packaging: 

10 ml of 0.65% solution in a polyethylene dropper bottle. The bottle is placed in a cardboard box together with the package leaflet.

30 ml of 0.9% solution in a white high-density polyethylene spray bottle with a sprayer. The bottle is placed in a cardboard box together with the package leaflet.

Storage: Store in a place protected from light, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. 

After opening the vial, the product is stable for one month. 

Do not use the product after the expiration date!
